The classification of Rhododendron subsection Taliensia

Abstract

Abstract. The classification and affinities of Rhododendron subsection Taliensia are discussed. The validity of the four subseries included in the old Balfourian Taliense Series is considered in teh light of modern biochemical evidence. The problems presented by some of the species complexes within subsection Taliensia are highlighted and the need for further research is discussed.
